Phasis II was founded in 1996 and is the very first theater company of its kind. We take actors emerging from all levels of their training straight from the page to the stage. Our unique production process provides the open door to a necessary next step in an actor's development of his craft-live performance. To date, Phasis ii has given 35 drama students the opportunity to participate in a live performance experience, providing the exposure they need to be seen and cast. We see ourselves as developing a "new service" to the actor, which is generally not provided by other theater companies in New York City today. By providing a showcase production experience where actors can put their understanding of live performance technique to the ultimate test--they can not only be cast in leading roles, but also expand their inner confidence as performing artists.

PRESS RELEASE

Go to Camille
Phasis II, New York City's newest theatrical production company, joins the Off-Off Broadway community with an exciting evening of Alexandre Dumas Fils', Camille, in a new translation by Albert Cashdollar, and directed by Dunsten J. Cormack.

The company founded by Shyron Bynog was conceived to give new talent an opportunity to perform before a live audience. Ms. Bynog's first venue was a very successful run in 1996 that consisted of three one-acts: Cocteau's The Human Voice, Pirandello's The Vice, and Fletcher's Sorry, Wrong Number. And she can add another very successful production to her resume with the production of Strindberg's Miss Julie and Pinter's Betrayal in 2000. The evenings are professional, unique and fun. Included in the price of admission on opening night is wine and hors d' oeuvre served pre-performance and at intermission.

The cast for Camille includes in order of appearance: R.N. Rao, Alice Klugretz, Maureen O'Malley, Diana Craig, Mary Sue Ballou, John Sheehan, Rosely Gardner, Dinarte Freitas, Berto Colon, Diego Mateos, Aylam Orian, and Tom Schlessinger. Set design is from the imagination of Joseph Polacik, lighting is the magic of Mark Klimko, and the detailed coordination is in the capable hands of Production Stage Manager, Max Weinstein.

Performances run for 16 evenings, October 9th thru November 2nd, with matinee on Sunday.
